This site has been constructed to facilitate the development of a state-wide association for part-time faculty at colleges and universities in the state of Ohio.

The primary purpose of the Association is to improve higher education in Ohio by advancing and protecting the rights of all current and future part-time faculty members.  To that end, our primary focus for the immediate future is to provide a means by which part-time faculty can communicate with each other and strategize on how best to bring about reform.

The Problem:

As you know, SB5, if upheld, will curtail collective bargaining rights for public employees including full-time higher education faculty.  Part-time faculty at public institutions in Ohio have never had collective bargaining rights.  Just a couple of years ago, two bills in the legislature proposed changing the law to include part-time faculty.  Now all public employee collective bargaining is under threat.

Just because we can't unionize doesn't mean we can't organize.  But we can't organize if we don't communicate.

The Solution:

Join with colleagues across the state
to stand up for professional working conditions
to ensure optimal student learning conditions!

To start communicating, please join our new discussion listserv:  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ohioadjuncts/
